Planning for the degree program started on the 30th of August 2011. Approval from the Fu Jen Catholic University’s Board of Trustees was granted on the 11th of July 2013 for the Bachelor’s Program in Educational Leadership and Technology Development to start operations in the 2015 School Year. Approval from the Taiwan Ministry of Education was given on the 12th of September 2014 with the first batch of students starting their class on August 1st 2015.
The goal of this degree program is to develop graduates who are experts in the fields of educational leadership and technology. Moreover, curriculum of the degree program utilizes concepts from 3 major fields: education, management, and technology. In this way, students are able to develop inter-disciplinary knowledge and skills, while focusing on systematic thinking and problem solving skills. In addition, various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are design to enhance the students’ perspectives and experiences, at the same time develop their sense of compassion and concern for their fellow humans. Within the development of educational ideals, leadership beliefs, and technological skills, graduates are able to pursue a career in educational technology, administrators, or any education related professions, such as: digital content development, multimedia production, e-learning developer, corporate training, administrative management, or a career as an educator.
